A stereotype people have always had is the one that brazilians are uncultured and poor. People tend to think that except from top models and soccer players there is nothing else to be seen here.We are not little indians or former slaves who live in the Amazon and hunt and fish for food. Brazil is one of few countries where Arabs are friends with Jews, americans live with asians and germans like italians. There is more here to be seen than the common thought known and people should realy try to find out about it.

Of course, Lucy, we have all that that you mentioned, but as my students pointed out, there's much more to it than what you "see" abroad!

People also have a lot of stereotypes about Gremany. We are suppose to be all blonde, drink beer, drive a mercedes and live all in bavaria. And not to forget people are some how stuck to the opinion ,that we only have one nationality since world war two.Some even think that Gremany is still divided in west and east. But, we have a lot of different nationalities. Exspecially the big cities, like hamburg and berlin are meltingpots for different ethnic groups. So if you ever visit Europe, come and vistit Germany and look yourself!
